I'm growing crystal lemon cukes in a greenhouse and they are doing great. Noticed this morning that they are throwing out side shoots from the bottom two or three nodes and wonded what to do next. Do I 'stop' them after so many leaves or leave them to ramble?? I don't think I remove them completely.

I stop mine after the first fruit, depends on how tidy you like things tolook!!!

Mine were getting too big so I pruned the growth shoots near the bottom as I could barely get into the greenhouse without damaging them anyway.  It doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

This is exactly my problem Sarah. I've had to be careful not to tread on them and in doing so nearly toppled over. Not a good thing in a glass greenhouse.

They are for the chop then and will train the ones higher up (if they appear) after the first fruit as suggested by Bish.
