sweetcorn flowering already
« on: July 03, 2013, 10:04 »
My sweet corn is looking healthy and has thickened nicely since planting out a few weeks back, but now its developing tassles already at only maybe half a metre high. Will it carry on growing upwards as the flowers/cobs develop or has it been stunted by being in pots for ages (I planted it too early)

but will they carry on growing or is that it once they tassle? Should I give them a big dose of feed and hope next weeks hot weather gives them a boost?

I reckon they'll be ok - I've had a variety that did that with no problem - some are taller than others  ;)
