Very happy dont laugh at my harvest

We have just podded 400 pea pods and got 1lb of peas after podding, my daughter picked some rather early but that was so she could justify "having to eat them"

I was really pleased and yes i know that will only be one meal but a tasty one at that.

Stupid me it was 170 pea pods daughter was winding me up with her 400

I'm not laughing - I was sooooo chuffed with our first handful of pods earlier in the week. :happy: They made a coleslaw look so much more interesting.

thats why we pick them early and have mange tout, much more for your work, and no shucking involved either.

But you do not get that sublime taste Grendle, the only reason I grow peas is to eat them straight from the pod, sometimes I even give some to my family to eat as well, but only when I am feeling generous.

One of my earliest memories - peas straight from the pod, sitting on the floor between the rows whilst mum was busy elsewhere on the plot... Apparently I didn't even pick the pods, just emptied them!
