Hi. What are these bugs and how do I get rid of them? Thanks

Blackfly - pinch the tops off.

Blackfly, whatever they want to call themselves. Noticed mine are covered too but not on the growing tips.

Soapy water but mine like yours are so covered i may just go big with the provado, once i check its suitable.

You'll kill all the bumble bees that are visiting them if you use provado, BQ

Ok re-think that then. If the bugs are not on the tips would it help to take the tips off.

mine are like the picture too, but only i the last 48 hours

If the bugs are all the way down they have probably been there quite a while and I would remove the stem if there are only a few affected or soak them with some type of soapy stuff that doesn't hurt bees. I can't officially recommend washing up liquid so will say a fatty acid spray instead.
