I'm still only at the 'green' stage here on both outdoor and greenhouse tomatoes, although the green is getting lighter which I think from reading here is a good sign.

I was tying some of mine up a bit more today but this evening I noticed one had keeled sideways  :nowink:  Still no tomatoes today

I asked the family round the dinner table this evening "what's red and invisible"?  Blank faces

"No tomatoes"!  says I

What I think are Gardeners Delight are ripening regularly now & 2 Sungold will be ready tomorrow or the day after.

I've only had 3 Tigerella go red so far, still waiting for the rest and for the Black Russians and the Green Zebras. The cherry toms are all starting to turn now though.

Please please please please no blight....!

It's so annoying isn't it - i've been watering a lottie chums greenhouse on and off this year.
She had never grown toms before.
She has about 15 different random plants in her greenhouse and they are all doing well and reddening up beautifully ::)

Tell me about it - I'm watering my next door neighbour's polytunnel while they're away in the States for 6 weeks.

It's their first year of growing, and not only are their toms doing better than my or my other neighbour's, with lots of tomatoes ripening, but their Red Alert and Gardener's Delight were all donated by myself and the other neighbour respectively!

(Their polytunnel gets full sun all day whereas my and my neighbour's greenhouses are partly shaded - still trying to decide whether that makes me feel better or not! )
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I went to see my dad last week and we had salad for lunch with HUGE tomatoes out of his greenhouse...infuriatingly, they are from plants I gave him, and my tomatoes are half the size and bright green.  At least the deer haven't eaten them...unlike my beans, celeriac, beetroot...

Some of mine that are ripening are also starting to split :( is this because of the rain we have been having? Is there anything I can do about it?
