hi all what ive done is cut down and dug up some really old nettles in a back corner the neighbour said not been dug over for 4 years now ive cleared it and want to plant it or shall i leave it till next year and what shall i put in may be potatoes or winter cabbage

I would get something in quick, still lots that can be put in.
Mind you we are very very short of space so i am grabbing every bit of spare soil.

Well done for tackling the nettles 
It might be a bit late to plant potatoes or sow some crops but the Garden Centres and online seed companies are selling packs of winter greens for planting in July and August, so they might be worth getting
