I would see that as magnesium defficiency. Typically appears in older leaves first. Top right hand leaf is a good example with yellowing between the veins and black spots in lines.

Blight does not discriminate and can affect leaves anywhere on a plant but often starts tucked in where the humidity is high.

I have observed some early blight on our allotment. Also known as target blight as the spots have rings. Target blight does not cross leaf veins. Not a lot to worry about as it does not usually get into the tubers.

Thanks Salmo

I did think it could be a magnesium deficiency and feed the plants with chicken manure pellets and comfrey tea but it made no difference.

My main crop appear to be doing well so I'm hoping for a good harvest

Epsom salts are for a magnesium deficiency as I recall.
Had to give some to my old yellowing raspberries one year.

How do I apply Epsom salts I'm pretty sure my spuds need it but I'm under pressure from the old boys on the plot who view ANY mark on a potato leaf as blight  ::) and are telling me to cut them off now, one had dug some of his up yesterday and brought my a haulm to show me blight, it looked like blackleg to me and had only infected one of his plants, so I gently suggested it could be blackleg and explained about it, he'd never heard of it and was pleasantly surprised and said he'd read up on it. anyway I digress I think my potatoes have magnesium deficiency but I'm unsure how to apply the Epsom salts

There's no precise measure, but something like a tablespoon full in a watering can should do the trick.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Ema,

Just don't worry too much!

Yeah, be interested, but please, don't panic, because blight will clobber you at some stage if it's near to you, but so far, it's not that bad, so hang in there, think of England and expect the better of all your hard-earned labours on ypur plot!

Believe me, because I'm a Growster,...
