They are both beautiful.  I hope Paco finds a forever home soon.  My Bonbon was terrified of leads when she came as they had been used to ill treat her, but we introduced leads in tiny steps as you are doing, and she is fine now.

Paco is a gorgeous baby, and obviously mistreated with leashes. Hope someone with patience adopts him as a life friend.

A small dog, but a "big boy"

When you watch Battersea on the telly, the amount of pure bred pedigree dogs you see, makes me wonder how callus people can be.

They pay all that money, yet when they get fed up, they just expect to throw them away (not that any animal should be thrown away, however dear or cheap, they are to buy)

It's when they throw out the old dog to get a puppy, that annoys me !  >:(

What will happen to the puppy sooner or later ?

Pup is called Eddie and is a lovely they say, they are enjoying ¨fostering´ him

This morning was uneventful at the refuge,  last Sunday we arrived to find poor Pumba being bitten by a dog, he had his tail under the gate and the other dog had hold of it and would not let go   Poor Pumba was very traumatised :(  He is a funny dog, he does not really like men, but once he knows you he is a friend for life.  He hates being picked up, when he had to have his injection to ´put him to sleep´ for his castration he fought like a mad tiger!!  Thank goodness the stitches did not need taking out (he pulled them out!)  Last Sunday he did not want any of the treats we had for the dogs, so we knew he was very upset!  We could see the wound on his back close to his tail today, he had quite a bite, poor dog.  He will never get re-homed, he is too grumpy!  Today though he let me rub his belly and he rushed about eating the treats.  He is probably about 8-9 years old, I do not think he has had a good life at all.
¨Shy´ dog was today not shy, she was rushing about like a mad thing- last week she hugged the wall and refused to leave the kennel, today she was first out onto the field.  I think she is scared of new people.  Her name is Celeste, but I call her Shy Dog. She lived with a lady who took dogs off the street, the lady has loads (over 20) in her flat, the council have decided she has to move some on!  The dogs were breeding and were all in bad condition.   Shy dog was pregnant when she arrived at the refuge and had 2 pups.    She is now sterilised.  She would make a lovely pet for someone.
This is Shannon, Shy Dogs daugher, her son looks just like his sister, you have to look underneath to see who is who!!

All such lovely dogs - I do hope they find good homes. You are brilliant Pamela - it's not an easy job to do as there is lots of patience required; mainly with the people I suspect.  ::)
