i think most people boil it up in old pans and add washing up liquid. i just soak mine and it works for me. dont eat veg for 48hrs after spraying, but by the time the veg is ready you would,nt need to spray just pull caterpillers off. you could make a garlic spray also which is milder. google home made garden sprays. i,ve got nettle brewing at the moment for spraying the mush goes round my toms as a feed.

set your hosepipe to stun and blast them off the plant. point the hose upward to get them off the undersides of leaves.
