Apart from squashing them with fingers?

I read somewhere garlic spray?
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

Does washing up liquid affect the plant, or what you eat?

And is it organic?

I have a serious aphid problem this year, I have just ordered provado ultimate bug killer. I have just literally Walked in the back door from spraying fairy on my French beans. They are attacking everything in sight.  :(

Same problem with the toms that are due to go out tonight. It's either fairy or death as it's so severe. I think the washing up liquid does work but it's just our plants have it too severe for it to have much effect.

I am really annoyed after the weather holding it back, then bad germination, then having to re-sow and now to get aphids.  >:(

It doesn't effect the plant or the crop - everything is just cleaner

Detergents contain chemicals so it's not an organic remedy, but neither is it a shop bought pesticide - it depends how fussy you are about the 'organic' label  ;)

Fair enough, do you just squeeze a bit of liquid in to a sprayer?

Just a few drops in a hand sprayer, and give them a good blasting  ;)

Yep I did a thin layer and then added water and shake well. To be honest I am not letting the blighters get one over on my crops, not after last year and the start of this one.

I just sprayed until the bubbles started to show on the leaves, and when the bug killer gets here it's bye bye bugs. Organic or not they are my veggies.

I did buy some live ladybirds (larvae) last year- it was fun to see them munching  :), but watch out for the ants which will see them off the plant (they protect the greenfly as they like the honeydew? they produce, anyway something like that), so you need an anti-ant  ??? plan if you add ladybirds.... blimey it get complicated doesn't it.

Not seen many ladybirds this year yet, a few but not many aphids either  ;).. yet.

Get some vitax organic 2 in 1 pest control. Will kill any aphid that gets sprayed. Gardening on a large scale here so can ill afford to get hammered by aphids and suchlike. It's organic and it works so thumbs up here.

I may order some of that as well. We are covered on every plant in the garden.

I should point out that that is a New Zealand site and the 'recipes' listed on there are not licensed for use in this country and therefore technically not legal to use.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

If you have ants as well, then put some blobs of jam on the leaves above aphids and the ants will eat the jam then eat the aphids.
Not alot of ladybirds this year.

Errmmmm I take it you mean cheap shop jam, no aphid is getting my jam. Do you mean smear the aphids or the top of the leaf they are on. Mine have curled a lot of the leaves so they are protected
