Upside down toms
« on: June 02, 2013, 16:17 »
I was bought a couple of upside down hanging tomato planters for Christmas. I have just planted one of my Tigerella plants in one. As it's a lot of compost for one plant I decided to put a minibell tom in at the other end with a bit of basil.

has anyone found they grow well in these ? My suspicion is a plant growing upside down would not be normal but of course I am probably wrong. Also, watering could be tricky if it ran all the way down the plant.

I put mine out about three weeks ago and it seems to be doing well.

The plant has turned upwards and looks quite weird, but it rooted well and seems to be thriving.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !
