Have just planted my onion seedlings and I am short
Can I sow more or is it too late?

I would say it is far too late to sow seed and get onions as a result.  You'll get spring onions, at best.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Onion's will stop growing leaves after the longest day. They then transfer all the energy in the leaves down to swell the bulb. You are far too late.

OK then.  I now have space for something else.  Any suggestions as to something a little different I can sow now?

I think you can still sow spring onions, beetroot, radish, lettuce, anything that you sow successions of.

Squashs, other cucurbits.

Peas......

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !
