Strawberry runners, raspberry off shoots etc

I hate just throwing these out so tend to pot them on, but there is a limit to how many one person needs.

What do you do with your extras, I am very hard withthe raspberries as they go everywhere but they just root like crazy.

I have three buckets of raspberries growing away happily now and I don't need them.

Share them with others on the plot, usually the newbies are keen for any freebies  ;)

We Freecycled a load of ours - gave away about 60 odd mini strawberry plants.

Most have raspberries already or someone else beats me to it because they are on the plot during the day  I have seven buckets now as hubby has just cleared the paths again.  blimey raspberries grow like weeds.

I hope you're right about that! I am praying for my raspberries and strawbs to throw out loads of runners this year

Well if your ever down this way do a drive past and I'll throw some at you. I never knew raspberries were like this, why then do garden centres charge so much for a piddly pot

I too have loads of raspberry runners.  I just binned mine, I have enough already, but I did not know they would be viable plants..............if so I could pot on and give some away.

We didn't know for sure but we just stuck them in black florist buckets and away they went, they looked rough for a few days but then they picked up lovely.

A lady kindly gave me some raspberries last year after I put in a request on freegle, definitely worth asking/giving on that or freecycle

I Freecycle all my spare veg plants every year and people are so grateful!
When you look at the prices of tiny plug veg plants I'm not surprised I get so many replies. Good way to meet people and share advice too.

I bin my raspberry runners as they're too prolific. Mine are everbearings and they're turning into nightmares. Never had this problem with the old standard summer berries.

Strawberry runners are snatched up by friends and relatives.

Hello all

I've been lurking on this forum for months but have just joined after hearing about your lovely raspberries beet root queen. . .

I don't suppose I could be really cheeky and ask if I could have one or two??

I'm quite new to growing my own things but my nan used to grow lovely raspberries, they remind me of her and my mum so much!

I've been eyeing some raspberry plants up in my local garden centre.

I don't think I can pm you because I don't have enough posts, being a newbie.

Katie
