Im thinking of hatching a batch of pheasant eggs and then mixing the offspring with my hens in order to breed from them? Is this possible? Other forums seems to think the pheasants will drop dead due to diseases from the chickens but other people have had success and its produced the most amazing markings. So if anyone has been down this road, what are the pros and cons?

I have never heard of that, although my granddad crossed a turkey with an octopus, so that we all got a leg at Christmas...  problem was he could never catch the thing to kill it!!!!! (sorry)

There have been a few accidental pheasant / bantam crosses in the past, if you google there are photo`s.

I have never heard of a deliberate attempt at hybridisation working.
