The one in the last photo has been at this stage for at least 10 days, it hasn't been eaten, just stopped growing.
There are several like this, and some with longer stems, two leaves that are smaller than the photo but again no desire to grow any further.

They have not been exposed to the elements so no birds & the tips of all the plants that have so far "germinated" are all ok.

I have found some of last years original seed so am going to plant these later.......it'll be interesting to compare.

ive planted prize winner and mine did the same as your first couple of pics.they are just upside down.believe it or not I just dug mine up and turned them round!now I have 30 plants 10"high!

I got a packet of these from T&M using a free voucher. They don't say anything obvious on the packet about being F1, though the description sort of hints at it. It also reckons you can pinch them out to make ground spreading plants rather than climbers.

I'll try them next year maybe.
