Banana Peppers

How sweet are these?

My wife isnt a fan of chilli peppers, so I am looking to grow something that is sweet, but not bell peppers, as I've never had much luck with these.

What would people suggest, and how much success do you have outside, without a greenhouse?

I'll probably have to buy a plant now, as i've missed the boat with starting from seed, I would have thought.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

believe it or not, the best outdoor "horn" pepper harvest I ever got were from a supermarket sweet pepper but a lot really depends on the weather for a successful crop.  I've grown Corne Rosso in the greenhouse, this year I'm also trying Rubens
