Petunia leaves going yellow???
« on: May 03, 2013, 05:58 »
Hi, I ordered some plug plants and duly potted on. Some of the leaves have started to turn yellow. I don't usually have any problems so wondered what it could be. Any ideas? Thanks, Caroline

Could be a few things:

  • Most likely one is that they got cold in transit. Cosset them a bit and they should be fine
  • Are they far too wet? If so, let them dry out a bit and just gently water after that. the yellow leaves might fall off but more with grow of course
  • Perhaps they need a decent feed -- try half strength tomato fertiliser. the yellow leave should then start to green up a bit.
  • What compost is it? if you have used some from the bag already and other plants are OK it is unlikely to be this

Hope that helps a bit

I'd go with any of the above too. :)

Thank you both - I think they might have got cold as they are in the unheated greenhouse and there has been a frost one night this week. I've fed them today and they look perkier already - I'm just hoping it wasn't some sort of disease!
