Pollinate strawberries?
« on: May 02, 2013, 14:09 »
Last year, because of a dearth of flying insects when the strawberries were flowering, I painstakingly pollinated each flower with a soft brush. I got a great crop but now a neighbour has told me it wasn't necessary.

Do strawberries under cover need pollinating?

you'll have to do it - if the insects or the wind, aren't doing it for them  ;)

On the other hand, I didn't pollinate my strawberries last year, and they are in the greenhouse!
