It's a chemical fertiliser used to supply a quick fix of nitrogen, and has a slightly acidifying effect on soils, which can be handy for ericaceous plants.

It's not organic either chemically or in the "sustainable and from natural sources" sense of the word, but that doesn't mean it's harmful to use in any way.

And it's great for green leaved veg that need a quick boost - Eg Cabbages, lettuce etc....

I use chicken manure pellets to do the same job - if you're worried about using these - find an organic approved brand of pellets.

Thanks mum that was really the answer I was looking for  I already have chicken manure pellets didnt want to go out and buy something I virtually already had
