Beetroot Burpees Golden

Evening all,

I have been given some of these seeds and wondered if anyone has tried them before and what they taste like compared to purple ones like boltardy, and if its worth getting non bleeding, but losing taste.

Thanks.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

They grow huge!!!

I found they tasted like normal beetroot but didn't roast as well because the yellow colour got brown streaks in the flesh.

I've decided I prefer beetroot coloured ones

Lots do like them though

I love the flavour of these. I think they're better than the purple ones. Roasting them is the way to go. They look a bit less vibrant than the purple but the flavour is fab  :)  You can saute them in butter too, and they go crispy at the edges. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm :tongue2:

Love them and have a packet to plant. I prefer them raw rather than raw purple ones. Roast versions of both look good on the plate as well

Some people have trouble getting golden beetroot to sprout but they've always sprouted easily for me. Taste is a bit milder than reds but more acceptable to people who don't fancy the deep red colour of regular beetroot.

I love them.

Normal beetroot brings back memories of school dinners and blood on the plate...  complete horrors from my infant self!  i just can't ...

i love them best roasted, but anything a red (dying) beetroot can do, a gold one can do better!!   :D

Yes - I should see a psychiatrist! But given my sis-in-law is one ...  that is as off limits as the red beetroot!!  ::)
