I think it was wishful thinking on my part to ask if P/L deliver.  Can't see it myself.

I know you said before that you don't go out on your own now Anna.  Is Karl driving again yet?  If not, how on earth do you manage out there in the wilds?

I will work on Brian.  He wants to go to Essex to see an old friend, and I will go with him like I always do, so why can't he take me to see my friends once in a while?  He doesn't like me going to Kent to visit my friends and family, so I have to go on the train.

Wish I had persevered with my driving, but I just couldn't afford to carry on with everything I had to spend my money on.  Like my family and HIM!   >:(

Sorry everyone, getting off topic here! :(

I had to pop down to poundland this afternoon to get some water retaining gel (£1 for 120g sachet - half B&Q or wilko's price) then spent the rest of the afternoon repotting all the strawbs already planted with the addition of the gel (all the ones  in the towers and the 16 odd plants along the fence. I left the hanging baskets as we gel'd those last year when we planted them.

Unfortunately they don't deliver :(
Karl's not allowed to drive anymore because of his illness.
We get on okay, apart from when I have a relapse like this. Meds are working but are making me very woozy to say the least!

I'm not really that posh Grannie!
They were the only pots I found and I don't think we have a Poundland either!
Trust me - if I'd have found them cheaper I would have bought the cheaper ones!!!

Seeing all of your pics is making me rethink part of my strawberry bed. I have one of these strawberry towers on a paving slab on the top of the bed, but never seem to have much luck overwintering my plants.

What success have people had overwintering with the stackable pots? Or does anyone have any ideas how I may "win" the overwinter battle with my tower?

We had large fleece bags designed for trees in pots would that work. Failing that a hot water bottle to keep them warm lol ;)

Where did you order your from devonbarmygardener?

Crocus .com or .co.uk one or the other! They came in white and grey.
Found out my local Cornish garden centre had them too. :)

They were a bit more that a £ though!!!! :D
Although if they last 10 years I shall be pleased!

I use water retaining gel too. ;)

My strawberries are sat in a trough so won't be going anywhere. But these stacked pots look like fun, so I'll certainly give them a go :)

They're 99p in B&M for the penny concious  :tongue2:

Do you know where this is DBG???

Poundland
56-58 Royal Parade
Plymouth
Devon
PL1 1DZ

01752 657452

MJPalin, My tower stayed in the greenhouse all winter.  I gradually watered it less and less, then left it dry until 2 weeks ago.  Trimmed off the dead leaves and started watering it again, and now lots of new leaves and even a few flowers!   :) :)

Oh Grannie!!

If it wasn't for the fact I'm avoiding town like the plague as the main 'artery' into town is closed and I WILL NOT go near it until the road opens again (I drive to Tavistock for any 'town type' shopping needs quite often - I don't get the 'hives' I get going into Plymouth City Centre!!!)

BUT when the road is open - I will be there!!

Is there one in Cornwall - Bodmin area maybe???????

LOL DBG, don't empty the shop!

And no, I don't have shares in Poundland!

I stayed with a friend once who lived in Worksop.  She took me into poundland where they were selling these scrapbooking kits and the little sticky card toppers.  I spent £10. She bought the rest of the stock.  £99 worth to re-sell on Ebay and when she got to the checkout, she got out her chequebook and at the time they didn't accept cheques, so she had to run to the nearest atm and get the money out!   lol

These kits were then selling on Ebay for £2.99!!!    ;) ;)
