IS there ever going to be a right time to plant out?? looking at the weather where i am its meant to be 1c fri night and then warm up again and then next wed 1c at night, ive got cabbage and beetroot seedlings waiting to go out along with loads of chilli plants???

Cabbage and beetroot will not mind cold nights. If you are worried put some fleece or a cloche over them.

Chillis definately do not like cold so keep them inside.

Do pea shoots need covering for frost or can they tolerate it?

Peas can take a light frost.

So just to get this right if I plant out my cabbage and beetroot seedlings they should be ok but cover if worried about frost

Harden them off first, then they will be fine.
