Does it pay to mist tom seedlings?

Only small seedlings on first and second true leaves. Mainly for plants in the house with central heating. I fear that if I do, and the sun gets a bit strong that they may scorch.

I agree  :) For toms I think it's best to keep the soil moist and the air dry and well ventilated to help stop mold spores developing and to keep the dreaded blight at bay
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

Glad I waited before going in gung ho. It's just a bit strange that one minute they look happy as Larry and the next day they look pale and unhappy with their lot.

toms don't like sudden changes in their environment - maybe they got a bit cold or in a draught?

They will probably pick up on their own.  :)

If you look closely at a tomato leaf you'll see a fine hairiness to them and this would only trap any mist and cause the leaves to rot, which you obviously don't want. Smooth-leaved plants are designed to retain moisture and would gladly absorb leaf moisture - from the underside. Unless your plants are suffering in a drought situation, there's really no need to mist them unless you're doing a foliar feed.

I mist toms after transplanting or potting on with a weak seaweed solution, don't seem to get any stressed out plants.
