How long did they take?

Just planted ours on Sunday in trays and modules in our unheated poly....

As a guess, people on here say they don't like heat once through, but I'd wait for a proper answer to make sure.

Get them in the cold frame straight away. They don't like heat.
I sowed all my brassicas a month ago and they have been in the cold frame ever since. Out of 90 seeds, all but 4 have germinated and are growing well.

In the cold frame for sure, open right up in the day but would still cover at night if any sudden sharp frosts are forecast. They are hardy for sure but won't appreciate being frozen while still very young. If its no trouble to close it up if need be, I would.

I did a load of brassicas at the weekend - directly into pots - they are outside in the garden in an open frame with netting to keep the chooks off. Summer cabbages, I did in the house first week of March. These were straight  into the cold frame when  they germinated and are now outside - now sturdy little plants.

With hardy plants, rather than absolute cold, it`s probably more important to avoid sudden changes in the range of temperatures - hardening off is essential for most plants and not doing it is behind much "sulking" IMHO

My brassicas went into the coldframe for a week and then, last night, I put them out under nets to make way for other things.

I am hardening off my brassicas and have been for the past week .... however we are about to have a dip in temperature across the country .... should I wait until the temperture goes back to normal spring temps before planting out???
