Poor persons asparagus......Asparagus pea.

Hi! I bought some asparagus pea seeds during my holidays in Malaysia last December. These creeping plants seems to grow easily with plenty of pods, obviously the weather there helps. The locals tend to eat them raw. I prefer them lightly stir fried with some crushed garlic. When would you sow these peas? Can they be planted outdoors like runner beans? Or do I have to plant them in the polytunnel?
