New veg - 'Brukale'
« on: April 14, 2013, 18:27 »
Just seen this new veg on the rhs website called Brukale, which is a cross of Brussel sprouts and kale, so they look like little mini cabbages with kale type leaves.

I think I might have to give this a try next year. Looks interesting.

I have grown it for several years and it is very good.

Am I the only person here that thinks some wise chappy has just decided to big up blown Brussels sprouts ? :)

Kale is my favourite green and I love sprouts too when they perform, and would admit that some F1 varieties have improved harvests. But surely this is a hybrid too far.
I can't help feeling this is a seed intended for the "refined" tables of Primrose Hill.

That's what I was thinking. My sprouts usually end up looking like that anyway :D
