Hi all, i bought some equine green bedding for chooks it looks good and the smell is ok. Chooks are happy but will it be ok for newly hatched chicks (not hatched yet, very excited, will have lots of questions soon).

You don't say what the bedding is made of. I'm sure it will be fine for chickens but newly hatched chicks it probably won't be. They are likely to try and eat anything they can get in their mouths and most if not all types of livestock bedding will be unsuitable at this stage. I use newspaper covered with kitchen roll to start with. The kitchen roll stops their leggs splaying on the newspaper. This creates a cheap and easy to clean bed. After a couple of weeks you can then start to use bedding.

If it is Miscanthus, it will be fine.
