I've seen mention of these a few times now but I'm not sure exactly what it's all about? Are you growing peas or just the shoots/ leaves? The only bigga peas I've seen are the tinned varieties but I'm guessing you all don't mean this, lol!

...can be bought quite cheaply and grown just for the shoots, for salads and such.  Pea shoots are lovely.

I have a planter of them at home, and one on the office windowsill for my team to pick at. They are sooooo tasty!

Half a packet = 1 planter, and they are ready to start eating in 2 weeks. they will crop 2-3 times according to what I've read.

Don't forget the tin foil collar!

I've let mine get to 6in tall, and then taken off the shoot down to the first pair of leaves and first tendril, but I see online it says to take them off to either ground level or leaving 1inch of stalk. They regrow from what I've done, but I'm going to try the latter option too...

I know you may not believe this, but left alone they grow into proper peas!

I got mine from my local scoop and save type shop.  They grew very well, I covered the surface of a 5 inch pot, and they sprouted away in no time.  But it turns out that I don't like the taste of marrowfat pea shoots, neat, but they are good mixed with salad leaves or in a stir fry or steamed as a veg.

They're great just chopped up with a salad, especially with salsd cream for some reason!

We have about four 5" pots on the go most of the time and get at least two cuts from each one!

I grew mine out to full plants so I could expand my seed quantity for future growing since I cannot get Bigga seeds either except at the grocery shop.

do you chit them on wet paper first or just plant in -seed compost??

Just get a 5" pot nearly full of compost, chuck in - and level - about twenty or so dried peas, cover with a little more compost, and water them!

Soak them and sow loads into ten inch pots. Scatter them around at about two per inch. Quite thickly. Either cut when very small and use as mentioned, or... Let them go for longer, cut the tips just as the flowers are appearing, maybe take 4-5 inches, then lightly steam and serve a few pieces draped over a piece of pan fried salmon or something..........off....to......eat....
