None of them look like the Brown ones in my packet perhaps brown is wrong they are more of a straw colour anyway they look dead.

You won't know the answer unless you either sow them or pre-germinate them (mine were exactly the same as you describe Dugless.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

If I know mice I doubt they'd hang around long enough to let you actually observe them eating your peas so it's just misguided guesswork. Birds attacking the young shoots and uprooting them maybe like they do sprouting onions mistaking them for worms, but mice? Nah

Well I know fer absolute and certain that voles dig up and eat peas and I've seen 'em, the little wotsits.

And they carry away the ones they don't eat straight away to make a cache --- seen them doing it and found caches too  :ohmy:

That's why I sown my peas in modules in clusters in an unheated greenhouse and plant out when they are two inches tall
