My mum has just been given a cockerel and she says it kneels down to eat corn even tho its in an orchard.

I am not sure how old it is, not very old I don't think, but apparently its been kept in a shed since birth.

They think its being in the shed that's caused the kneeling does anyone know why or will he grow out of it?  He's not suffering at all just a bit odd.

Thanks

I think if he is young, and now he is outside, he will gradually get over that.  Are you sure it was a shed?  sounds more like a box to me, somewhere where there wasn't enough room for him to stand up!  Poor little mite.

Check feet and legs for abnormal scales. Chooks will stay down if feet or legs are sore. Can he perch properly and get up and down from perch? Can't do any harm by rubbing legs and feet with vaseline/Savlon.
