They seem to have a policy of substituting something equally marvellous, in their view, when they run out of what you ordered.

Quite a few forum members went for a plug plant offer from them last autumn and many were disappointed to receive lots of, for instance in my case lavender that I didn't need, instead of the advertised selection. ::)

I suppose the only thing is to put NO SUBSTITUTIONS ON YOUR ORDER - so they'd have to give you your maoney back.

I'm sure that if you contacted them and said you really didn't want the substitute - then they would refund your money. That being said I doubt you would have got Lady C anywhere else, unless you ordered very early. They were in short supply this year  :(

What a disgrace !! I only ordered from you because you had the variety I wanted !  I did not want a substitute that’s absolutely useless .no wonder you are getting a growing reputation in the allotment world for being hopeless !. If you must send a sub you should ask first  if its acceptable not just send or you should refund ! current practice is completely unacceptable .I don’t care about being sent a voucher I want what I ordered . displaying it as for sale when its not is not right I hesitate to say fraud . order number 03986164

Have you read their T & C's?

"Should a specific variety not be available at the time of despatch, or if items are of unsuitable quality to send, we undertake to supply a variety of similar colour and habit, and of an equal or greater value or send the item when available."

I think you should also read the definition of fraud, which is a criminal offence, before making such allegations.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Lady C had a bad year last year I doubt you'll find any.

I think I would have been quite happy with a substitute.

However I had some mouldy rhubarb crowns from them and won't bother buying anything else.

You can swap your club card points for vouchers with T&M so I do t know how much the 2 companies are linked but it would explain their ethics

I managed to get LC at my local nursery, but they were very small. I was delighted to get Casablanca from a chain retail when my local nursery hadn't got them.

Personally I'd be happy with what was sent.

Club Card swaps - it's an agreement. I don't think they are connected, I'm going to quadruple mine up for Cafe Rouge!

I think your meaning was explicit.

As previously stated, the T&Cs permitted the swap.
