Too early for rhubarb crowns?
« on: February 16, 2013, 18:20 »
I've got a couple of new varieties to try this year, but can I plant them out now or do I need to wait for the frost to finish? My established rhubarb plants are shooting up pretty enthusiastically at the moment, but they're obviously a bit tougher than new crowns.

I've lifted six established crowns today, split them and ended up with over 40.  :)
Replanted some and given the rest away to new plot holders.
I'd get them in the ground with a generous helping of manure if you have it.

I'm waiting for a delivery in the next week then I'll give mine some FB&B.
