Gala apple from aldi

Just planted the above and noticed that there is no evidence of a graft what so ever.

I checked it and and went over it with a fine tooth combe also called the other half to check and there is none.

My question is...

Is this normal or could it be the rootstock tree un grafted?

I have checked all the way to the root and nothing.

I am puzzled too.

Its go 2 years to show an apple if none then up it will come.
