Time to start sowing various veggies. Summer Cabbage - do you sow in modules and put in a cold frame or wait for them to sprout indoors first?

I wont even bother sowing these until april, theres no rush, if im late they will catch up anyway. I sow them 2 to a 3in pot in a cold frame, harden off and when they are big enough i split them and plant them out at the recommended spacings.

I put 2 or 3 seeds per module in trays on the window sills about this time of year and when they're about an inch or an inch and a half high, into individual pots in my outdoor plastic greenhouse.  When they start getting a bit bigger you don't have to worry about them being cold as they prefer the cold to being warm.  The real problem comes when planting out as you have to protect aaginst, slugs, catterpillars, and keep off the birds and butterflies.

Have fun!  ;)

Welcome to the site  :D

Brassicas don't like too much heat so be careful.

Why don't you pop over to the Welcome forum and introduce yourself?  Always good to give newcomers a proper welcome  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

No they don't like much heat!! The amount of seedlings I've lost either indoors in a cool utility or in a warm greenhouse!!

Sow in modules in cold greenhouse, move to cold frame two weeks before planting out. No pricking out, happy days.
