Oh that's a new one...I only know Salsola kali as a UK shore plant - apparently it's now named Kali turgida - which also is tumbleweed in the the US. Which salsola is this one?

Seeds of Italy sell Salsola Soda aka Agretti /Barba di Frate  - which I think must be similar to, or the same as, the one you know savbo, cos it is a salt tolerant one  :)

ah! S.soda is not the UK native, got a Mediterranean distribution - apparently they extracted soda from it in old days. Mme Cholet, please keep us posted!

I used to grow it a lot...and loved it. Good in salads and stir-fries :)

Salsola  Liscari Sativa from Real Seeds. the seeds originate from Italy.

Bought some last year from Real Seeds, but it was a disappointment, it never seemed to get going but that could have a lot to do with the relatively cool summer we had.
