They are golden gourmet, the label says march time, with the weather that is forecast I think it would be best to wait for a while?!

Yes, they are a good variety (I've tried several others too but i plant GG every year and they are very reliable and also store well.)

You are not far from me so I suggest any time from mid Feb onwards, conditions permitting (i.e. if you need a pneumatic drill to get them in the soil wait a bit longer!)  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I plant mine in mid-Feb, conditions permitting, and they are usually ready sometime in July.

Me too but if the weather is rotten and wet (as if) I plonk them into individual cells / pots or large trays in the greenhouse to get them growing and then plant out once the green can be seen.

It's worked well in the past.

Just as New Shoot said. (Sorry just seen your post)

There's no rush here, I just finished some sprouts off today so I could dig it over! I'm going to get my onion sets in a bit earlier this year as they were a bit small, I think I waited too long!

So I'll wait a bit then, not even starting them in module trays now?

If you've got reasonable light, well draining soil, then I'd go for "no"!

I know exactly where mine are.

About 8 miles away at the nursery where I'm going to buy them.
