Hubby discovered someone had helped themselves to some potatoes  >:(

Just rude very rude they did however take the green evidence with them and left any speared spuds behind

That is really awful, after all the hard work of growing them. How can someone justify taking them. is your site not secure?

Sad to hear that BQ.
In my view it is always the healthy option to never think it's an inside job, and the odds are it's not.
There is no future in harbouring suspicion about a neighbour.
Treat some crop thefts as just another pest to guard against and move on. Bad weather and blight are the biggest thieves of all.

The kids went up with hubby and dig a bucket of weeds between them. Hubby also did some weeding of the squash patch.

My dad took about 20 pots up to pick, haha he got bored after half filling one and said blackcurrants were too difficult. Insert rolling eyed smiley.  ::) i just give up with him.

Oldest son went up and pulled a whole rubber trug of weeds  where the heck do they keep coming from.
Hubby spent hours picking one whole bush of blackcurrants, where the heck do they keep coming from too.

We'll need q bigger freezer.

:) We both spent two and a half hours giving everything a jolly good soak as we can't get to the plot for a few days. brought home some courgettes, onions, potatoes and raspberries. Gifts for the 2 daughters we will be visiting this weekend :)

There's never enough time!  All I managed in 2 hours on the plot was harvesting and watering only the essentials.  Oh and netting my younger son's peas because the pigeons like them too much  >:( Itching to get back there tomorrow  8)

Re-netted the Chinese Broc/Pak choi as a fox had sat on it , watered the squash, watered the beans with some weed/nettle tea (phew  but I was warned about the smell) and pottered a bit until I felt I'd had too much sun.

Potted my winter broc/rapini/calabrese/sprouts up a level as I won't be able to keep them watered when we go away if I plant them out now.

Found two dead voles (I think), in different parts of the plot, no apparent reason for death. Never seen a vole before, so I'm guessing. I wonder if it could be the hot, dry weather.  I was checking and I don't think it has rained here since 23rd June.

Watered the fruit bushes, dug three post holes ready for tomorrow.
Picked more blackcurrants, redcurrants, courgettes and a mass of french beans
