Took some more grass up ready to extend a bed for next year. Drowned everything in water as cant make it tomorrow and expecting it being hot
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Watered all fruit and veg. Noticed that something been eating my broccoli they look like skeletons. its not slugs as I put down pellets,  so it's probably flea beetle. I don't know how  to stop these little pests  . They wiped out my cauliflower earlier  >:(

Spent 2.5 hours watering 100 squash plants, 24 tomatoes, 10 Kale, 2 beds Chard, 10 Artichokes, 1 bed Runner Beans. I currently take water from a fen, so watering is quite time consuming and as I can't get down over the weekend I wanted to water heavily tonight so I gave each plant roughly half a can. Now quite tired :)

100 squash plants...did I read that right? All I can say is wow! On my lottie, I can only manage 10, considering I need space for other stuff as well.

Dug up 3 first earlies as they looked like they had blackleg...still managed to get a few new pots from them so not a total failure.

Prepared a large bed for winter cabbages, planted out my purple caulis and tied up the peas and mange touts.

Spotted we had a courgette forming nicely - should be good to pick in a few days :o)

Teehee, nope 100 is about correct, actually it might be marginally less but lets say 80-100. I do have a full plot at 350msq and its just to feed me :)

We havent gone yet because its too hot.
We have however laid the freecycle slabs in the garden. My cabbages are not loving the heat and neither am i.
Tomorrow very early i am going to pick, if its going to stay this hot maybe i will set my alarm for 5 am

We went this morning before it got too hot. Plotfather hoed, watered and earthed up (recommended by plot neighbour) cabbages and caulis. I pinched out and hoed between tomatoes. Soaked pumpkins, squashes, courgettes and potatoes. Picked 3lbs beetroot... and a handful of raspberries :D.

It could easy be pigeons, are the leaves stripped back to the middle and raggedy? Flea beetle dont usually do that much damage.Weve had a bit of pigeon bother on our site and most folk have had to net,the brassicas are like skeletons like you say.
Nearly all ive done today is weed weed weed,Sewed another short row of rocket, coriander and tried some spring onions like dd recommended a pinch in a cell tray, also sewed some more chinese cabbage for chicken greens they love this stuff.
Harvested salad stuff ive had a good year on the salad,i used to have a lot of flea beetle till i let the chickens overwinter the plot, theyve cleaned it up a treat from pests as i had a lot, rocket and radish hardly has a mark on it where they used to be full of holes in the leaf.Alot of my seeds were from lidl this year i cant fault them at all,the rest were from premier seeds direct i seen them on someones post on here,id go as far as to say they are some of the best seeds ive ever used, they were bouncing out of the compost when they came through,100% germination,i was very, very impressed with them and ive used loads of expensive brands before.

on one plot something eats my peas, plants leaves and pods - up to 12" from the ground, above that the damage stops - even to leaving half pea pods.

just weighed them 1.6 Kg of peas, 1.3kg from one plot, 0.3kg from the one with the nibbler, though the telegraph pea plants are just starting to pod, so the stats may change, as its the low bush peas that are producing at the moment.
