Hi Caroline I got some pallets from Howdens the kitchen company. A lot round me seems to sell them to a guy that picks them up weekly.

I've got 3inches of snow here very rare to see this much down south and it's still coming! I've been out and fed and watered the birds. Shaken the snow off the mini green house and sheet of perspexs I'm using as a cold frame. I won't be doing anymore gardening for a while!

I smiled knowing I brought the leeks home yesterday before the snow came.  :)

Stood and stared and wondered why I hadn't had the foresight that Paul Plots had s the sow came down.
Would it be really stupid to go back again and grab some??  :tongue2:

Wonder if my garlic and onions will survive the snow! Pretty heavy here in Cardiff! Looking out my window I can see about 6" of snow. I know its too late now, but would it help if I had covered them up with fleece or netting? I did with broad beans, tho, so hopefully they will be ok.

Lady Mary, they should be fine, the blanket of snow will act as an insulation for them.

Decided to remove a large bush from the new plot, it took over 2 hours just to get the rots out, heeled in the new blackberry bushes and dug up some leeks.

I considered tracking the fox back to its den, but then I thought what would I do then? Dunno whether I want to be face to face with a frightened fox!

So knocked the snow off the brassica tunnel and came home.

Cleared the paths to the plot ,removed snow from  brassica netting ,filled up the bird feeders
broke the ice on the pond , and removed snow from the greenhouse.

Yesterday, froze whilst I took photos as am going to start a photo diary of sorts for my new project. Had a bit of a tidy up in the shed, not that its untidy, but there is always something that needs tidying up! Spread my shallots sets out in a box in the shed until I plant them.

Today, just stood and looked wistfully in the cold and wind as waiting for my 4 bulk bags of topsoil to arrive for raised bed no.1 and then to get 3 more beds built and filled. Everything is 6 months behind schedule due to me be being ill. I'm getting so fidgety..!

Had a walk to the plots and took photographs for OH to see. Haven't had that much snow so no damage done. Where I had dug earlier last week, the foxes had been using this as a toilet so tidied this up and covered with plastic to keep the foxes off, if nothing else.

They can be a real pain - foxes. I guess they may have been after worms. Had the same on my plot up until last year. Right now they'd need a pick-axe and goggles for the glare.

Snow stopped play!

Foxes eat worms?? The foxes plague all the lottie holders, some plot holders resorting to fencing their entire plot. Might have to consider this as getting really frustrated at the damage they do to netting and anything that I use / build that looks mildly interesting to the foxes to investigate.
Will take a walk to the plots later to get updated photos.
