Got my last row of spuds in and dug a 2 x 17 ft area that was covered in weeds. Not bad considering I was also entertaining a 5, 6 and 8 year old at the same time! Next week I hope to get my onion sets in and sow some beetroot. The weather man has suggested it might get up to the late teens on Sunday    8)

Spent the day doing a planning application for site composting toilet (oh the joy!)

Would rather have been digging and planting on my plot!

Think of the relief it'll bring everyone over future years!!  ;)

Not at the plot but at home. Emptied the shed, swept & amazingly got most of it all back in albeit some what tidier & more organised. That is until I start using some of the stuff. then I sowed basil, parsley x 2,lemon balm, oregano, cress, dill & chives. And I'm off at long last felt like I was never going to get started this year.

The weather finally picked up and we had a nice afternoon so I built some more of my compost heap, planted out the last of my Red Baron onions and moved some huge tree stumps/rings on to the plot as bases for pots etc

Had a seed sowing frenzy! Peas, French beans, potatoes, marigolds and poached egg plant. Feels so good to finally do something!

Took delivery of a tonne (I think) of soil improver from the local council.  Luckily I had help from my son and didn't have to shovel it all myself, else I wouldn't be sitting here writing this, I would still be barrowing :)

:) Can't believe I've managed to get to the lottie 2 days in a row. Dug over a bed (again). Planted one raspberry and one blueberry - only £1 each from poundland, wonder if they'll be any good? Already have lots of raspberries from last owner but not sure I they're dead or alive! Still not planted my charlottes, maybe on Sunday, can't get down over the next couple of days.

Not a thing as i've been at work all day, and had planned to go tonight but it's piddling with rain (again)
So instead put some seeds out to chit and sorted the seed box so I know what I do & don't have!

Planted out most of my spuds - Pink fir apple and belle de fontaney in my new jute bags and put vales sovereign in the ground as they are reportedly resistant to most things!

Planted out 2 rows of 'Quatre stagioni' lettuce - delish - can't wait to stop buying salad leaves.

Onions and broad beans doing well from earlier planting!

Built my new fruit cage for the blueberries too. :)
