Raced around early to get a half hour in at 11am- it was very still and sunny, so very lovely...and no one there  :D

2 more barrows of really nice muck,  I know my back ache limit! Dug up some autumn rasp, to plant at home- they just came out really easily the soil is so easy to work, but rushed off and left them in my trug on the side path   am sure they will be there in the morning....

Managed to get 2 blue barrels to use as water butts. Collected them and took them to the lottie.
While I was there, I laid down some cardboard and spread manure over the top. Will have to finish off asap!!!!

Hoping to get there later today but currently waiting for a parcel to be delivered. Need to finish paths and see if there has been a manure delivery. If there has been, fingers crossed there might be some left.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Hurrah!! There was a manure delivery and now have topped up three beds on refurbished plot. Paths still in progress as manure took priority.

I managed to get to the plot for a couple of hours yesterday.  Dug over and weeded the last bed ready for winter so really pleased  :)

Just back from a lovely few hours up at the plot.  The 'manure' that was supported to have been delivered yesterday turned out to be a small pile of spent mushroom compost but I managed to get ten barrow loads for my new raised bed.  I spent the rest of the time pottering around and talking to the other plot holders who had all come up to get some of the manure.  Had a cuppa and came home to discover that my daughter has sourced a large quantity of free manure for us and has also managed to get a number for a guy who will transport it for us.  Will get working on this option in the morning.

Pushed three barrowloads of very heavy manure up the hill to the plot for my proposed asparagus bed (spared a couple of shovelfulls for the rhubarb).

Then covered over the newest lasagne type bed to rot down over the winter. If I put plenty into it now I might get celeriac bigger than a ping-pong ball next year.

Still plodding on with the paths but now all the wood chip has gone  :(
After lunch, put 10 bags of spent tomato compost from garden greenhouse in the back of the truck, along with dead bedding plants, and finished potting up bulbs. Have got some spare so will put them in at the lottie tomorrow to cheer the plot up in spring.
