Watered, potted out toms and chilli's into the new growhouse in the garden, and then performed a public service at the allotment - emptying the manky water from the bath at the communal tap, ridding it of all the absolute rubbish that has built up over the winter and spring and then refilled, so we can now dunk our watering cans and go, rather than having to fill from the tap.

Made the greenhouse a more pleasant place. Niche weeding anything that took my eye, and ruminated where to put the second batch of sweet corn... sorry strawberries, there's far too many of you and some will be evicted over the weekend to make way.

Managed to feel well enough for 1/2 an hour & begin to pot on tomato plants so that they will be ok when I am away & daughter is in charge. I was surprised that the modules they were in weren't full of roots,so maybe they will be ok left in modules.Potted 4 cucumbers in to larger pots plus 4 toms that I was given on Sunday-Black russian I think he said. Then after dinner Mr S & I went up to the plot so I could instruct him on how to earth potatoes up

Belted to the plot, opened the shed then the mobile rang.

Locked the shed belted off again.... returned half an hour later. Those who try succeed eventually.

Watered, weeded, planted out 6 butternut squash then reached for the slug bait.  It was still at home! My wife had it in the front garden as she was putting out bedding plants.... I'd left it on the front step in my haste.

Too late to make another round trip as my hour and half were up.  :(
Oh how I hope the slugs are slow off the mark and I can get back there in time tomorrow.

Went to the plot yesterday evening in a rush to water all the emerging plants as forecast was for sun and drying winds only to be awoken at 6.00 am by thunder with lightening and showers. No mention in any forecast of thunder and lightening!!! Nevertheless the rain was welcome but it can stop now please

Although light this morning at 4am I was surprised to see lots of dark cloud having watered my plot late yesterday evening. Unlike your area it didn't rain here (unless I missed it when I slept).

Slug bait day to day for me.  ;)

Actually got to the plot - boy it's been a busy time. Watwred and used my new swoe with great energy and swoed the odd onion too. New potatoes are going into flower, no idea when to lift them, I'll wait for one of the Johns to tell me......

Planted 30 desiree which I had forgotten about.. . .  looked at the (miles) of now 4 foot nettles that I will have to deal with at some point. At home I'm planting out annuals into the cutting bed and anywhere with gaps. A bit haphazard but I like it like that  :D

I wonder who has a petrol strimmer.....
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)

While you don't want a plot full of nettles, a few near the fringes is no bad thing if you have space. Ladybirds like to lay their eggs on nettles.

There are good weeds and bad weeds!
Breaking new ground.............literally!

Watered, watered, watered!!!

Weeded, weeded, weeded!!!

Put tomato feed into the water butt for the tomato drip feed system.

Stood putting to world to right with my neighbour on the next plot.

Removed side shoots from the tomatoes.

Great joy as I have both my first strawberry showing and wait for it MY FIRST TOMATO OF THE YEAR (probably weeks away from ripening but at least they are showing through!!).

Lots of hoeing, lots of watering. Planted a few broad beans and a couple of rows of peas
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Whizzed up inbetween rain storms to do the tunnel, picked out a bucket of weed  plus four pounds of lovely beetroot.

Very happy as i didnt plan on picking any as i thought they were too small.  :D

Also weeded the communal path that runs up the inside of the tunnel, we have an old boy who constantly trips, well i am not suprised  ::) all cleared now.

Just a quick visit - watered (even after the rain today, Aelf's strawberry pots were dry), teeny bit of weeding and planning the jobs for the weekend ahead.

Had a month away after falling and hurting my leg pretty badly. I had cleared the plot in winter...

I nearly cried :(

But..

I got on with it...

Hoping to clear similar size today...

Slow and steady m'dear - It's amazing how quick weeds get hold of your plot, but think positive, it's all do-able ;) :)
