Is there any benefit to me putting some garlic cloves in the freezer for a couple of weeks and then planting out?

I know they like a bit of cold, but I'm not sure about being frozen solid............I've put them in the fridge when I've planted them in Spring, rather than autumn/winter.

At this time of year planting them out would be easiest, cos there's still plenty of cold weather to come;) Just wait for a day when the soil is unfrozen and pop them in.

With putting garlic cloves in the freezer, you risk having the freezer draw out moisture which makes it difficult for the clove to survive when thawed.

It's easier to now just pot the cloves up and set them beside a wall where they won't be in the way. The cold nights and such will chill the clove into root growth and when possible you can later plant them out.

Why freeze them... they will die.. Just plant them out - still plenty of time.
