Does Anyone Buy From Vegetableseeds.net?
« on: December 01, 2012, 09:25 »
Morning All.

Having a look online to buy my seeds and came across this website. Seeds seem cheap and there's free P&P, too.  :D

Has anyone used this site to buy their seeds?

Cheers

It's only a few varieties that are very cheap I see.

I haven't used them myself but I have used, and can recommend
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct

you only pay 59p postage for the first packet of seeds the rest are free of p&p :)

I'll fourth that. Premier Seeds are my favourite too. And if there's anything they don't have, my next choice would be DT Brown. I would have said Alan Romans too but sadly they've been swallowed up by the TM empire.

I've used them for the past three years. Quick and cheap. But this year they brought out a half-price offer just hours after I paid full price - what price loyalty? I'll look elsewhere next year. Pity.

It's not their fault.... why take it out on them...

They claim to give absolutely the best deal because of savings in packaging etc, so how is it they are able to cut prices by half?  They even call me by my first name in their e-mails - like a friend. A friend would tell me that I needed to wait 24 hours because of falling prices.

Yes - but next year without my custom. I know they are a business, and still in business, and are allowed to employ whatever tactics they wish. I just feel badly done to - and as a customer with free will I shall take my custom elsewhere.

The phrase "cutting off your nose to spite your face" springs to mind there.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'll repeat my often said post that Mole's Seeds take a lot of beating on price, if you need a lot/can seed store well/share with others.

For instance Vegetableseeds.net - Mussleburgh Leeks - 70p for 425 seed. In round terms, Moles are 4 times the price for 10 times as many.

Perhaps, DD,- my wife agrees with you!  But I wouldn't shop again in a shop where I had been annoyed by the staff. Perhaps you would. We used to bump people off for less in these parts.

Hi divernon - Emails using first name are done through a contact manager subscribed list and not someone doing it manually.. Business is business in this world and you were just unfortunate to buy on the day before an offer started... Do you see a sign in Tesco's saying this item will be 1/2 price tomorrow? No you don't.. You only see it the day it changes.. it's life..

You have used them for 3 years and were happy with them.. nothing has changed.. So I suggest instead of cutting off your nose to spite your face" you should take a deep breath, forgive yourself for buying on the wrong day... and put the experience down to a way of life!!
