Poor Annen. That's awful. Bet you didn't see the fine printing stating 'rice paddies'.

Question is, what to do with all this spare time

I've been driven to do housework!

Hee Hee.
Seed catalogues have arrived, so I am scheming the perfect imaginary allotment for next year. There's just so much I want to try because  it looks so perfect in the pictures.

Will I be disappointed?  :tongue2:
Sometimes my plants grow despite, not because of, what I do to them.

Poor you, Annen, that's really a sorry sight!

I really hope it all improves for you next year - chin up, it could be your home, but that's no real help is it...

Actually it does help, at least my house is in no danger, I can sit inside and look out at the wet, not like some poor folk.

Most of my plot is OK, with cabbage, leeks, kale and parsnips going well.  However my bed of Brussels sprouts in one bed at the bottom of the plot is a disaster.  They are only  18" high with no sign of actual sprouts, plus now they are sitting in 6" of water.  Not hopeful.

Not much you can do AnneB but wait and see what happens  :(  Maybe you will get some brussel tops to eat at least.

Visited our site yesterday and we are on quite a steep slope so no danger of standing water, but the clay soil is sodden.  No chance of digging or even finishing the clearing at the moment.

I have leeks and brassicas which are coping, but the chard has bolted   Not sure what's going on there, but have baby plants overwintering in the greenhouse to go out early spring so hey ho.

One brave plot holder has made a potato clamp on his plot - hope they will keep   You could literally wring the soil out  ::)
