Can anyone identify this pepper please?
« on: November 18, 2012, 12:08 »
I took a few pepper seeds from the seed parcel and some were not named.  I found this little fellow lurking in my unheated greenhouse this morning.  The plant is only about 12" tall and is covered in tiny bright white flowers with bright orange stamen.  I was late planting the seeds as I did not get the parcel until late in the season so it could be that they are usually bigger plants.

Pic needs to be higher resolution, there are hundreds of varieties. Also if you want them to fruit you'll need yo over winter now.

There's probably not going to be enough sun now to get it to fruit properly.

If you want it to survive you will need to overwinter it. This means cutting it right back and reducing the root ball down. There is a good article here on how to do this: http://www.thechilliking.com/growing/over-wintering/

as it's still small it might as well be left it as it is - just cut down on watering a little.
