Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me identify this ancient rotovator? I hope the picture loads!! It belongs to my grandfather who is 93. I'm not even sure when rotovators were first invented but it could even have belonged to his father which would make it extremely old!

Kind regards,
 Tarka

Welcome to the site; I'll move your query across to Equipment Shed.

Feel free to pop back into Welcome to introduce yourself for a proper 'hello'  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Ah, thank you! I don't really know what I'm doing - it's taken me half an hour to get the picture to load as it was too big or something!

It looks to me like a landmaster, but as I haven't seen too many of them up close, I wouldn't want to say for certain (I'm unsure about the fuel tank........)
I expect one of our members who have one the same or who have worked on more than I have, will be along soon to confirm or deny.
Welcome to the site, by the way.

could be a landmaster, but also could be a versatiller, my norlett versatiller mk5 is similar, but has smaller plastic and rubber wheels, so it may be an earlier model, I think rototiller also made a similar model.
with mine I find you get a deeper dig if you walk backwards pulling it against its rotation.
if it appears to have seized check the gearbox on the shaft first.

hmm tricky, wheels look landmaster but the handles and tank mounting look different.

also the landmasters tend to split the shaft half way along, plus the handles share similarities with versatiller, the aspera engine doesnt give a clue as it was used on both versatiller and landmaster.
