I have grown the same Cranberry Pilgrim plant for two years now, but not a single berry.  Any ideas why?  It is in ericaceous compost under my blueberry plants which are in a bath tub as suggested by Bob Flowerdew.  Any tips greatly appreciated, I would love to get a crop next year.

I have the same problem. My cranberries are in with the blueberries and I did see a few flowers this year but suspect the birds got whatever developed  They do need a lot of water and seem to be slow to spread for bigger crops.

I recall reading that cranberry's do best in an acid peat bog. So as Trillium says water is probably important. Are they self pollinating ?

I bought 3 plants just to make sure but they were of the same variety as the source had only one variety to offer. Haven't found any other Canadian sources offering the plants.

According to the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers association (a huge one in North America), cranberries do not self pollinate and offer little nectar to bees so they tend to bypass cranberry blossoms in favour of other high nectar flowers. Several varieties are needed to insure good pollination of their thousands of acres of plants.

But according to a biological firm, cranberries ARE self pollinating and offer high nectar.

Wow, talk about opposite information. With the poor cropping on mine, I can only assume they're partly self pollinating and have low nectar to attract honey bees. The flowers are very small and bumble bees must find it hard to land on the flowers. The only thing I'll keep trying is to keep them regularly watered and give them a more acidic feed even though they're in a heavy peat moss location.

I have found my cranberries do produce a good return on cranberries, though it did take quite a time to get to produce well. They like a feed in the Spring of ericacious fertilizer.
