Spoke too soon!
« on: September 22, 2012, 22:27 »
My brother visited yesterday and whilst we were all chook watching  :nowink: he asked if we had any problems with foxes.
No i replied, we havent seen any foxes for over a year (although we know there are some about).
Tonight, a couple of minutes after shutting my coop, trotting up the street theres a blooming fox and it goes up my neighbours driveway.
Too close for comfort. I was 1/2 hour late closing up. Lesson Learnt (until next time anyway)

I'm going to try this one next, "no, i never win the lottery"

Hope it works, remember who your friends are!!!

I was at a bantam breeders yesterday getting a welsummer to keep mine company.  He had so many birds I could not believe it.  There was nothing to stop them from leaving his property as the garden was open plan.  I aksed if he had a problem with Mr Fox and he said only once and he complained to the local farmers who kept them under control.  He has been fine since.  He had so many beautiful birds I just hope that he does not get paid a visit.

By the way I was very good.  I went for one hen and that is what I came away with.   :D  Does that mean next time I am allowed to be very naughty!!

A local rural cafe has chickens for people to enjoy while they sip tea in the garden.  Not fox proof though - its bound to happen to them.......
