r had any luck with them outdoors but since growing them in a tunnel they have produced about 5 per plant each year.  This is in Devon.  On theother hand my daughter in Burton has been harvesting hers recently so I assume this is a soil thing.  Ours is clay and heavy but hers is more free draining which seems to be what they like.
